We get asked this question a lot on tours, usually somewhere between the parking area and the willow tree. Couples want to know what actually sets a wedding here apart from other barn venues around Indiana, so we figured it was time to put the honest answer in writing.
Jeremy and Andrea have been married since 2001 and have nine children. They found this property the same way many of our couples find it now, by attending a friend’s wedding here and falling for it on the spot. When the chance came to buy the barn, they took it, and the Corbin family has hosted weddings and events on this land since 2018. That history matters, because the people who greet you on your wedding day are the same people who have walked this property for years and know how a wedding day here should flow.
Indianapolis couples choose The Willow Creek Barn for rustic weddings because it combines an 1800s barn, a willow tree ceremony site, creek and pond views, space for up to 200 guests, bridal suites, included tables and chairs, and day of coordination. Its Frankfort location also provides convenient access from Indianapolis and surrounding cities.
What Draws Indianapolis Couples to The Willow Creek Barn
Frankfort sits close enough to Indianapolis, Carmel, Lafayette, Lebanon, Zionsville, and Noblesville, with easy access from Interstate 65, that couples from all of those cities treat it as their home base for the day. Once they arrive, the reasons they book usually come down to a few specific things.
Vows Under the Willow Tree
Our ceremony site is under the willow tree itself, with a creek running through the property and a pond with a fountain nearby. It is not a rented arch set up in a parking lot. The tree, the water and the open grounds are part of the land, and they photograph the same way every season because they are simply what is already here.
The Barn and How Guests Move Through It
The barn is original to the 1800s, measuring 74 by 76 feet, and it holds up to 200 guests. Inside, you will find 200 indoor chairs, 25 six foot round tables, 6 eight foot rectangle banquet tables and a 10 foot handcrafted bridal party table, along with table linens in several color options. Two crystal chandeliers and string lights run throughout the space, and outside there is a patio with seating, an outdoor entertainment area with cocktail tables, four whiskey barrels used for decor, an antique wagon and fire pits. Yard games are set up for guests who want something to do between the ceremony and dinner. Guests can move from the ceremony site to the patio to the barn without feeling herded, because the grounds were built to support that kind of movement.

A Day of Coordinator Included at No Additional Fee
Every couple gets a day of coordinator as part of their booking, at no extra cost. Alongside that coordinator, our barn staff, parking staff and wedding party valet team are all on hand the day of your event. Set up and take down for both the reception are handled by us, not left for your family to figure out that morning. Couples tell us often that this is the piece that took the most stress off their plate, because they were not managing logistics on the one day they wanted to actually be present for.
What’s Included With Your Booking
Your rental covers the tables and chairs, the table clothes, the two chandeliers and indoor lighting, the bride and groom rooms, the outdoor wedding site, the picture areas, our attendants, the custom wedding party table and the whiskey barrels used in decor. Recent additions to the property include separate bridal party suites with vanities for hair and makeup, seating and hanging space for dresses or tuxes, so the wedding party has a real space to get ready rather than sharing a corner of the barn.
Food, Bar and Local Vendors
We do not handle catering ourselves. Per the board of health, The Willow Creek Barn cannot prepare or serve food on site, so we keep a catering prep area available and can point you toward local caterers, cake and dessert providers, florists, DJs and live musicians we know and trust. Alcohol works differently. We hold a three way liquor license, and all alcohol at your event has to be purchased through the venue and served through our onsite bar. Guests are not permitted to bring their own.
Event Types We Support
Weddings are what we’re known for, but this same barn hosts bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and corporate events too. If your guest list includes a college graduation party, a prom or another special occasion, the same grounds and staffing that make our weddings run smoothly work for those events as well.
Conclusion
The best way to understand why so many Indianapolis area couples end up choosing this barn is to walk the property yourself. Stand under the willow tree, look at the creek, and picture your own ceremony there instead of someone else’s photo. That’s usually all it takes. Schedule a tour with us, and we’ll walk you through the grounds, the barn and the bridal suites in person.
